"CSI Meets Genealogy" with President of Life Scene Investigations-Chicago, Gerald Schmidt
Upon retiring from the San Francisco Police Department in late 2009, Gerry consulted on several projects involving automated identification technologies including Rapid DNA analysis. In addition, as a latent fingerprint examiner, Gerry prepared hundreds of unidentified crime scene fingerprints for search and comparison using the FBI's Universal Latent Workstation.
Gerry currently devotes more and more of his time conducting genealogical research on behalf of family, friends and local clients. He will compare a CSI crime scene with limited space where you need to find every possible clue with genealogical research which often starts with a vast area from which to collect clues.
